Hiya…a pal of mine delivered steel plate to a small fab shop. the unloading method was to clamp
the plate via a strap to a upright girder…then pull out gently until the last foot then go like hell.

thats how we used to unload wood poles at the midlands electricty board off the 4x4 trucks untill elf and safety stepped in new rear lights if you got it wrong lol

Used to deliver steel RSJs to a customer using this method. There was never anyone at the workshop so when they were expecting a delivery they would leave a massive chain wrapped around one of the corner poles of their dutch barn. Five tonnes of 45-foot steel lengths makes quite an entertaining noise for the neighbours when it hits the ground!
