Rely on ramage
Ramage for damage
Could be the glue trailer from Eggers, Auchinleck. Basically a big fat sausage on the trailer floor filled with resin.
Wouldn’t glue come under ADR?
Also, don’t you need a bit more room than a single carriageway road to jack knife, and he’s pointing straight ahead with the side ripped off. Could it just be that the driver made a mistake and clipped something on the nearside?
Don’t see any straps either

I don’t know how these sausages’s of resin are normally restrained? Although they is a lot of trailer damage for a jack knife, the trailer has either hit summat or the journalist ain’t got a clue.
Unless they weren’t any or enough restraints and the subsequent damage is the sausage ripping through the curtains.

This last article gives more information and states that the driver hit a wall then lost control…
Thats a sticking sitution to get yourself stuck in…
Someone had to do it

I wasn’t aware that before an artic got into a jack knife situation the truck would take into account how wide the road was, bloody amazing these modern trucks aint they
If its jack knifing it will go wherever it goes and it doesn’t matter how wide the road is or what’s in its way

Hi Saratoga,
Whether glue comes under ADR depends on the type of glue.
Water based glue probably won’t come under ADR, but the kind of glue that contains a lot of solvent such as ‘quick drying’ glue or the really thick strong stuff for sticking flooring tiles to floors probably will come under ADR.
When it’s counted as dangerous goods, glue is ususally transported as:
UN 1133 ADHESIVES, 3, PGI or PGII or PGIII (Depending on boiling point, flashpoint and viscosity.)
I didn’t notice any dangerous goods markings on the Ramage vehicle, so my guess is that it’s some kind of water-based glue. If it does count as dangerous goods, then somebody might find themselves in a sticky situation
Ok, ok, I’ll get my coat.

Well thank you Being a new driver with artics and trailers, I’ve not yet managed to ‘jack knife’ one yet, crash it or even dent one. But rest assured, once I actually get some driving experience I’ll find a way to achieve such feats, eventually
PS. I think with “aint” you actually mean “aren’t”
Who appointed you as the official Trucknet grammar / spelling policeman
Or as I suspect did you just decide to appoint yourself

I corrected you ONCE in this topic. I’ve not harassed you back through all your other posts have I? Besides, there was a smilie there wasn’t there?

Surely you mean SMILEY
Yes it was glue destined for egger.
No its not under adr.
The “sausages” are strapped at regular intervals for tyre full length of the trailer. I see plenty getting tipped at auchinleck, and they always are well strapped.
The trail of glue started about a hundred yards back from where he got it stopped there is a traffic island in the road which has a bad camber on it and it looks as though he clipped a kerb or was throwing it about a bit and lost it there is also a bit o dyke down just after the island so the glue if it started swilling about would take over, The trailer is in a right state its well twisted I would think it’s seen it’s last load, The road was still closed at four o clock, Och a fair bit o excitement for a normally quite wee Sanquhar. Eddie.
a bit o excitement in the toon eddie. had to be a friday as well

Wonder if it lost, or was losing, the load in a way that took the weight off the fifth wheel, bit of over enthusiastic steering or braking on a wet road and round she went.
i do wonder if the vehicle’s around that area now stick to the roads…
