Truck hanging off Carlisle bridge

Another “how the hell did he manage that?” one

I would say he’s very lucky there and might want to do this weeks lottery.

I reckon he will will changing his undies very soon after that!

Very easily if the wagon was running along the shoulder for whatever reason then got the unit back but obviously not enough time for the trailer wheels to follow before reaching the bridge.Absolute joke piece of road engineering with what seems like an insufficiently guarded bridge. :unamused:

Passed this earlier as they were on with recovering it, and my first thoughts were they’ve been very lucky. Now having seen those pics i think they’ve been very very lucky indeed

Nice link to the m25. You have me baffled here. This is the bridge in question…looks like thousands of other bridges to me.

:open_mouth:

That’s a better angle.Very lucky driver.

But the difference with that M25 example is that the barrier and the banking runs into the hard shoulder removing it at that point and makes it less likely that the wagon will go onto the road below if it hits the barrier before the bridge. :bulb:

Amazing no ones blamed a car driver yet.

Couldn’t just be a crap piece of truck driving could it.

Lucky guy whatever the cause.

i saw this when i flew past earlyer on today going to prestwick airport it looked like he mite have fallen asleep to do that but 1 things for shure hes a very lucky driver best he does lottery on satday

looks to me like he was too far left :unamused:

There is no chance he might have been taken I’ll because an air ambulance was called and not a great deal of damage to the drivers side of the truck :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Just how low were you flying to be able to see that Captain?

Maybe he just had a blow out and brilliantly saved the truck from going off the bridge. Maybe he fell asleep. Maybe this. Maybe that. Who knows apart from the driver and any witness ?

It’s difficult to understand how it’s in that position without having gone over beforehand.

Stan

He’d realised he was going the wrong way, so he decided it was a good spot to back in to turn round of course.
