ERF 1

Just saw this numberplate on a bentley yesterday and wondered if anyone know’s who it belongs to? Or is a ploy to get let in the end of long queue’s by adoring lorry drivers??
Cheers.

I think it is/was owned by Sir Peter Foden.

Sure is/was.

:open_mouth: :open_mouth:   Why is it good to no

So who is/was this “Sir Peter Foden”? When I typed that into Google, the only hit was this very thread. Very secretive fellow if there’s no mention of his name on the interweb.

He is part of the Foden family, who were responsible at one point for Foden Trucks and also (hence the plate) ERF trucks. ERF being short for Edwin Richard Foden, who set up the ERF company to specialise in Diesel engined trucks at a time when ‘Foden’ (the family business) were still producing steam-driven vehicles.

Hiya there was a ERF1 and 1ERF. Peter Foden had EPF10 on his Aston when i worked at erf
his wife had1 ERF on a cream moggi 1000 estate car.I do know peter has a bentley now a days.
RF is a stoke reg so i would think it was easy to get the number plate as Beeches garage
(stoke on trent) was the main agent for ERF and all trucks at one time passed through there books.
