Had an interview at Wrefords Transport Northampton the other week , Had the interview by the TM ( seemed impressed that i’ve 20years experience etc, went fine ) then driving assessement with one of the fitters ( a freebie
- took a trailer to Robert Hornes @ moulton pk! ) Told “you obviously know how to drive” i think that was a compliment
Then TM told me he would ring me later so i walked out of there thinking the job was mine-didn’t have a reason not to … Guess what no phone call
Why don’t these [zb] have the decency to tell you if you haven’t got the job & why?
Cos thats exactly what they are mate ■■■■■ s the lot of em.
You had a lucky escape anyway mate It’s common knowledge they are a shower of [zb]a cowboy ,tuppenny- happenny outfit that pay peanuts ,a lot of polish & eastern european drivers work there now
Had the same with Wincanton a few years ago. It is not just this industry that behaves like this, many others do now.
A case of don’t call us and we wont call you, or to put it another way, ignorance.
I went for a job in 1997, got the job start monday. Phoned up on the friday to see what time to start and got told “will let you know the weekend”. I thought they meant that weekend but I’m still waiting to here from them!!!
This was not Wrefords though.

i work along side wrefords and i think they seem to be on a good crack.
took a trailer to Robert Hornes @ moulton pk!
Did he make you put it on the first bay
I used to do a trailer swap on that bay and it was a right PITA , no room to wind the legs up it was that tight
And I locked myself out of my own cab there once
It’s true though, there’s nothing worse than false hope is there? There’s the OP thinking he’s a shoe in for the job and then nothing, Cheers.
