…cross a picket line to work for Asda? Owner drivers & agency workers.
No.
i think the question it ‘would you work for asda?’
NO I wouldn’t cross the line.
NO, I wouldn’t work for ASDA
No I would not cross any picket line
If I can’t get work elsewhere ■■ Yes.
personally i would not cross a picket line ,but i understand those that would with mortgages to pay etc etc .
we all have choices be it right or wrong and a conscience
Yes. Not in a union, never been in a union in any job I’ve done, and as a non union member they have no right to tell me when and where I can or cannot work.

I’m in full agreement with you on that Neil, but I was thinking, if the picket line was a fuel protest such as happened in 2000, would you think differently? I think I would.
As far as the fuel protest went the most vocal seemed to be farmers rather than hauliers. Yet farmers get let off for so many things (road tax, red diesel, no MOT, and many still see the need to drive a brand new Range rover, and see fit to buy a new 100k tractor every few years) must admit i had little sympathy for them.
Bottom line is if you’re desparate enough for work you’ll cross any picket line.
How many people would still travel to france when they have one of their protests? Or would you refuse as you want to support fellow workers?

Farmers in germany have recently had their ‘rebates and allowances’ stopped - it is reckoned to be coming this way as well!!
Still no sympathy though.
I would and i have crossed a picket line…the dispute at asda has been going on for months…and as a last resort the unions are threatening industrial action, well good luck to them and good luck to him…theres no dispute with me so i will deliver where and when i have to …picket or no picket…

i made that mistake when i first started commercial driving 7 years ago. too much hassle with the ‘eye in the cab’ bleeping at you all day. i have recently turned down the opportunity to work from their grangemouth depot
Yes i would im in a union but paying the mortgage and feeding the kids comes before anything else.
Whether I would cross a picket line ultimately depends on the dispute, but as a general statement, Yes I would.

couldnt agree more.

No, not under ANY circumstances. For people to decide on strike action things must be pretty bad. Currently Iceland drivers are being asked to take a £100 a week pay cut and you’re going to help Iceland achieve that? It’s Iceland today and your job tomorrow lads just remember that when you’re looking for support in future. I’ve heard plenty of bollox on here about drivers sticking together but when the chips are down it’s all fanny about “I’ve got a mortgage tp pay” well hold the front page , SO HAVE I.
Truck drivers don’t stick together, everybody knows that. If we did, we might be getting a slightly better better deal than we do.
No I wouldn’t. I get paid anyway if the load gets tipped or not. It took a lot of hard graft by previous generations to get half decent working conditions. All the gains seem to be eroding away .
wasnt going to post again just read, but i think this is a very emotive subject, tartanradar you put down exactally what i would have like to say but better, i just hope if the [zb] ever hits the fan for me ive got people like you stood next to me, just goes to prove there still some gooduns out there.
