Avonmouth

Topcat1522:
Avonmouth

What do you need to know?

Avonmouth you say?..

Defo the worst depot they have.

You have to pay £3 to park your car and if it goes over 8 hours they’ll fine you (some agency men have had their car towed).
There is a very stringent health test involving temperature checks and a colonoscopy.
You’ll be given a run that’s so tight, you’ll consider Dr Who’s time travelling antics as childs play.
Your motor is the only manual left on the entire fleet.
You cannot use the bogs on site so make sure you go before you get there.
Your run will involve hand-balling the lot out of the back at all 20+ drops. Most of those are blind siders too.
Phone in (using your own phone) for your 5 to 6 collections which usually include Birmingham airport for which you’ll need Culina special ID to get airside, Mitchaks doner kebab meat factory in Droitwich and then a small but ridiculously sited paper mill just off the M5.

The debreif, after you’ve washed the whole outfit by hand, will take over an hour and is recorded on video.

No wonder they are always looking for drivers. That looks horrible. I drive past and see shiny new trucks.

None of what yourhavingalarf said is actually true…
You don’t have to pay to park, the cabs have working phones, the runs aren’t timed that badly, and it’s usually one collection from food factories and Avonmouth is chilled at +0 and no handball involved as it’s all DC work…
