I applied for a job with Parcelforce a few years back and was refused an interview because I didn’t have a passport and that was the only form of ID they would accept.
With the money RM are paying these days - they can afford to be rather fussy. It took me three attempts to get back in there, and that was with a spotless licence, 22 years experience under my belt as a full timer, and already got my blue card until 2024!
