Big factory build next to M5

Just curious really, but does anyone know what it is that’s being built right next to the motorway near Gloucester. Looks like some kind of big factory.
It’s literally right next to the motorway with what looks like a big boiler chimney.
Driven past it a number of times during it’s construction and always wondered what it is.

I know the site…

You’re on about. My guess is (without Googling it) a waste recycling power station similar to the one they’ve built just south of Boroughbridge.

190,000 tons inward and 9,000 ton of ash to shift away each year - nice contract for someone, keep those big wheels a rollin

For eternity. A continual blaze of the unconvertible, Salem without the trial, the Inferno without Purgatory
you have to hand it to those uber lefties

Ah so that’s what it is!
Looks like it’s ruffled a few feathers as well after doing a bit of reading about it.

Typical bloody Guardian lefty crap! We’ve got many such things here in DK and a good contribution to the country’s power supply they make. I only became aware of them when delivering baled garbage from the UK and Norway for them to burn. Also noticed the places are immaculate, could eat dinner off the floor in most of them.

I was on the phone to Robroy a month or so ago as I passed it and asked him the same question as I thought that as a South West specialist he’d know the answer. Turns out he not only didn’t but didn’t have a clue what I was talking about! Bloody useless that man.

I saw this one coming

The greenies were all up in arms over it…
A guy who used to work for us got himself arrested over it as he vandalised the council offices in protest.

Can’t believe what an eyesore it is. You see others around, like the one between junctions 9 & 10 on the M40, and they are quite interesting looking buildings, but this one looks horrible.

You know me mate when I’m trucking, , eyes front, laid back in my seat, shades on, looking so ■■■■■■■ cool :sunglasses: , and on autopilot, never noticing a bloody thing that does not wear a short skirt…
I only noticed it AFTER you mentioned it.

Btw…why do I feel like I’m having a conversation with myself ?

That’s similar…

To complaining about our roads being clogged up with lorries.

The only reason it’s being built is because there’s a need for it. Like it or not, we live on an over-populated planet that’s rapidly filling up with people and the rubbish that we generate. It’s gotta be tackled somehow and nasty big ugly buildings by the side of motorways as much as we don’t like it, are here to stay.

Build something like that next to a residential area with a school and some shops?

There is no shortage of faggots in the woods and laybys around Gloucester that’s for sure.

Smith’s Waste the other side of the motorway junction from this can’t wait for it to open and get lorries on turn around.
