Just guessing here co´s I´m stupid, no tacho in a car so…manual entry for other work when you start your next shift? Dunno. In fact, why the F did I try and answer?
If you´re not being paid then you are just a passenger in a car. Innit?
You stand firmly in the ■■■■ if you get found out,you are still working (at work) when being dragged until the point you reach base in therefore you have exceeded your hours…
Traveling to or from a vehicle that’s neither at the drivers home or usual place of work cannot be used as rest.
If you drive an out of scope vehicle home or back to base the time should be recorded as other work.
If you travel as a passenger the time should be recorded as either other work or POA.
If you’re out of working time and are recovered best keep quiet about it

Yep.
If you’re out of hours, you should be eating or asleep. Asleep means in your bunk in a stationary vehicle or in an hotel room.

how is asking a question to a answer you don’t know whinging ? , and as for another job I’m sorting out pensions to retire
Presuming your motor is being fetch back by another driver because they need it for something else, otherwise you would have booked off and stayed with it.
No matter what you do,you will be finishing and starting in a different location on your tacho,in that case you must have been working to get back to base.

An issue with analogue I’d agree, not with digi though; end U.K., start UK.
Traveling under instruction or orders is work whether you are asleep on a train, coach or car, even if your partner picks you up and a driver moves your lorry.
Park at base or stay with it [emoji14]

There’ll be no missing mileage if another driver drives the vehicle. What I’m saying is that there is no requirement for a driver to recommence work at the same location that he/she finished at.

no I’m not being recoverd , 2 of us came down in a car on Monday , and 2 are going back Friday ( hopefully ) , he’s going to drive so I will be in passenger seat , that’s why I asked the question , I’ve always been on own and driven .
but if I can’t get back car or not legally he’s going back and I will have to kip in this truck tonight and hopefully another hire car will be here for me in morn , if not I’ll drive truck back and they will have to get it back to right depot themselves , ta

If there was then most agency drivers would be breaking the law every day simply by working for a different company.

yes that’s why I asked the question does being a passenger in a hire car count as work time ( driving it I knew but not a passenger as I’ve never done it ) it does so I have to be back in car at my depot by 17.00

I’m leaving a truck at one depot then getting driven by another driver in a hire car back to my depot , there would be no missing mileage in the car journey as there’s no tacho in the car
the next question is , what mode would you enter on tacho when you do your manual entry when you next get in a car for the time as a passenger in hire car , I guess poa , or is it break ? ta
listen this is not a whinge , it’s just a question to something I’ve never done , passenger in a hire car , I know the law on being the driver but not the law on sitting in passenger seat , I now know it’s all classed the same , thanks , end of thread
Ffs tip the zb thing I’ll never get home at this ■■■■■■■ rate
