I’m going to do a bit of driving for a Company who use logbooks. I’ve never used one before… Just wondering what the craic is with them? I’m sure they’ll go through then tomorrow with me but a heads up would be good. Cheers
As far as I know, the most essential thing about log books is to make sure that you don’t hand your wages log book over to the men with clipboards.
It’s effectively the same format as making manual entries on the back of an old school tacho chart if you’ve done that before.
Make sure they give you at least 2 log books
Instructions on how to use them are best found on the Old Timers forum
1st off I wouldn’t get too inventive with your log book as don’t forget the tacho head is making a record too!
When I run on domestic I use my Digi card and set it to out of scope, I just think it’s a whole lot easier than a logbook

This is the example in the official guidance
I’ve never seen a log book that had that format.
This is how I remember the ones I used.As I said the same format as used to make manual entries on the back of the old tacho charts.
