Only needed for a laptop, toothbrush and a battery charger as my truck already has all mod cons wired in.

Looks ok that. The 500w has cigar lighter input and has good reviews.

Which one mate? The link has many models to choose from. What do you run off it?

Work out how much power you need first, look at the wattage on the equipment you’ll be using. If it doesn’t say then its voltage x current. So if your laptop is 19v at 2amp then it will use roughly 40watts. If you will plug anything else in at the same time then add that to the wattage. Then get an inverter with a wattage comfortable above what you require. However, if it’s just 60w or so from a laptop then a 150w inverter is just fine, the TLC stuff is good, they’ve been selling them for yonks, I had one, the more compact the inverter is the less likely it is to last with poorer heat dissipation too, like those ones that actually fit in the 12v socket, I wouldn’t bother with one of those.

I use the 24v, 300w. Plugged into the aux socket behind the bed, runs tv/dvd. Anything bigger tha 600w,then you need to connect direct to battery’s.

Napkins sell 500 watt 24v about 30 quid

It depends -
are you going to use it anywhere else but the truck ? If you want to use it in a car as well go for the 12 volt one - just make sure you plug it in to a 12volt socket in the truck .
if only for the truck buy the 24 volt one .
Heed the warning at the bottom of the page -

If the rated power or starting power of your electrical device is more than 150W, we recommend connecting the inverter directly to the car battery, otherwise the fuse can burn out. Not suitable for use with inductive power supply devices which require starting power exceeds that of the inverter.

The cigarette plug is only good for half of what this inverter can produce - if you start overloading what the cig plug can safely supply you’ll end up with melted wires at best , a cab fire at worst . To use it to its full potential you need to get it wired in properly- take the crocodile clips off and fit an anderson plug to it . Then ask your boss if he will fit a plug for you into the cab , tell him why ,and show him the inverter . If the truck is on an R+M contract or leased you may invalidate warranty if you get a mate to do it or attempt it yourself

Mine is from Maplin so good luck getting that one. Had some trouble with the toothbrush charger though, the Oral B ones are for 110v so it wouldn’t work with a plug adapter in the inverter, check the plug to see if it’ll work.

This is why im looking at the top one which although more expensive is pure sine wave. I read that toothbrushes dont react well to the standard modified sine wave inverters.

But this is 12v. I cannot find a 24v pure sine wave inverter with a cig lighter connection. Its okay to run this in a truck isnt it? Would definately not be drawing over 100w at any one time.

I have 2x 12v sockets in truck. One is rated at 120w max the other is 240w max.

on that basis - yes it should be ok - plug it in to the 240w socket AFTER you check it with a multimeter to make sure it’s 12 volt - never rely on a sticker - you don’t know who’s been rewiring it when you were not looking .

Those are modified sine wave. Im looking for pure sine wave plug in inverters. Only found the 1 so far, thr Green Cell Pro i linked.
