Class 1 work around Glasgow

Evening all,

There is an outside chance that I will be moving north of the border and I’m after dome info on firms around the Glasgow area. I have already done some research myself but I’m after some recommendations based on personal experience.

I want to carry on tramping and am willing to pay my hand to most things. I’m not interested in walking floor/bulk tipperwork.

Thanks on advance for any info.

WH Malcolm, in linwood, Bullet express in bothwell, Stuart Nicoll in shots, Hayton Coulthard in lesmahagow & ■■■■■■■■■■■■ dfds in larkhall, …plus plenty others

All of the above will give you decent to good motors for dung wages…

Depends what you are looking for and as mentioned above, the wages. I done the legwork for my husband for companies to apply for around Glasgow area which I can grab in the morning (just starting a night shift).
He has just started in JBT East Kilbride, they are still looking for drivers for the Bathgate depot.

A&D logistics

J M Murdoch
RT Keedwell
Bullet express
XPO logistics

If being honest wages are glasgow are not the best malcolms paying £9.23 for first 9 hrs then time and a half after that everyday.Stuart Nicol pays a salary its about 540 per week but not 100%.All depends what you want to do and what money your wanting.I cant say about the others i dont know anybody driving for them. You also have gist in the eurocentral but i will give you 1 bit of advice if you want to keep your licence avoid M P Burke in paisley and thats the truth.

That sounds like a company Robroy would work for.

Only know of them via agency work that the hubby did.

Wages aren’t great for Glasgow but we were on minimum wage jobs untill he moved so it’s a jump for us.

Truthfully 99% of what’s available is complete dung and has the wages to match.
Usual big names round Bellshill/Eurocentral XPO, Gist, DHL etc if you want to see more than £10 an hour for non specialist stuff they’re your best bet.
Several firms running fish out of Larkhall if fridges is your thing MacNeil, Wardrop, Campbell all who run top spec motors.

He wants to tramp, so where is he cutting his options to only Glasgow? sure he can manage a 50/100 south of the border commute twice a week.

If youre already away from home 5 days a week do you really want to spend two to three hours commuting back up the road when you finish at 6-7 on friday, get home shattered at 10pm, sleep in saturday to recover then go to bed at 8pm on sunday so you can then leave the house at 3am on monday to get back down there?

not forgetting the added bonus of a few ciggies and some plonk to sit on your bunk on the way back.
easy to add another £500 every trip without kicking the ■■■ out of it. 3 trips a week,do the maths

Try ARR Craib at ■■■■■■■■■■■■ better money than those already mentioned but Billy Bob basic spec motors.

As was mentioned in another thread recently if you’re willing to commute 70 miles each way you’ve got AW Jenkinson and Stobart Biomass running out of Lockerbie. £620/£630 PAYE take home tramping Mon 0600 to Fri 1500 - 1700. Can do Stobart’s as LTD through NLS agency and take home roughly £800. There’s also William Nicol and Annandale down that way doing similar work and Stevenson Bros. and Alex Anderson in the central belt. Don’t know their rates but wouldn’t be surprised if they were all in the same ballpark. All walking floor work. All a piece of ■■■■.
