Just a heads up for anybody thinking of travelling on the A59 Clitheroe bypass. It’s shut in both directions from Chatburn westbound and the McDonalds eastbound all traffic being diverted through Chatburn and Clitheroe. Just follow the traffic, there’s no low bridges on the diversion route, so tautliners should be ok, Roadshut for 48Hrs due to RTA. Road surface needs replacing. A59 still shut. No update as to when it will open, there’s no diversion signs up to direct traffic, so if travelling from Preston:- road closed after McDs left down Whalley Rd past Texaco garage on your right, keep going until a mini roundabout (Sainsburys and Hombase in front of you) bear right (inner bypass) past Homebase, Howdens on your left, mini roundabout straight on past Tescos road then bends left to Roundabout this is Chatburn Rd turn RIGHT keep going up to Clitheroe Hospital roundabout left there if you want Hanson cement. If not straight across until you come to a petrol station on your left, turn RIGHT just after it but before the Garden centre on your right, straight up back to A59 turn right to Skipton, From Skipton right at road closed sign, down to T junction Turn LEFT to Clitheroe Hospital roundabout straight over down Chatburn Rd to Petrol station roundabout turn LEFT follow road round past Tescos on your right over mini roundabout past Howdens and Homebase on your right bear left at mini roundabout onto Whalley Rd keep going straight to A59 turn right to Preston.
