As posted in another thread heading to the shap summit today and onto the old A6. Anyone down that way currently that can tell me the conditions. Apparently Beattock and Penrith have to be hit heavy with snow.
A little late unless you postpone the trip, but shap looks alright currently. Think this is tje weather station near the summit. Wouldnt worry about Penrith as that’s one of the gritting stations so keeps the M6 clear quickly.

(Wish they’d had that camera a few years ago).
I could phone home in Penrith but even the weather on the M6 past shap can be different to the A6 summit so Penrith could be bright sunshine…occasionally.
