Have I gone into a 15 here?

Card went in and started my shift at 05:31 this morning. I ended my shift at 18:31. Has that gone into a 15 and did it need to still be on 18:30 when my shift ended? Or is it ok as long is was before 18:32 when I ended my shift?

I’d say that’s a 13. Crack on driver

12 plus 1 equals■■? :unamused:

If you have a newer tacho head unit, scroll down a couple of times and it will tell you how many reduced rests and extended drives you have. Failing that, can you check when you download your card?

If a printout shows that the shift started at 05:31 and ended at 18:31 it’s not a reduced daily rest period, well not unless you have less than 11 hours rest anyway.

So the whole of that minute from 18:31 until it goes over to 18:32 is within the 13 hour. That’s what I was wanting to know. I thought there was a possibility that once you go into that minute at 18:31 you might actually be over the 13.

You’re overthinking it. As far as the authorities are concerned, if, like your example, your tacho says you’ve done exactly 13 hours, and your print out shows exactly 13 hours then it’s 13 hours, not 13 hours and 1 minute. The law requires your tacho to produce records accurate to a minute. That’s all.

Assuming the tachograph is not in any way faulty whatever it records is what you’ve done, if the tachograph shows that you booked off at 18:31 that’s the time you booked off at, it doesn’t matter if it was actually 18:31:59 if the tachograph says it was 18:31 it was as far as the regulations are concerned 18:31.

assuming newer taco, if you ejected at 18:31:31 or later, that minute will be recorded as the event that occurred most during that 31 seconds. This would take you into an RDR.
