M62 E & W Jnct's 20-21 closed

Heads up for anyone using or planning to use M62 E & W it is closed both ways between Junctions 20-21 due to a mobile crane on fire. Apparently it’s tyres have exploded in spectacular fashion, the road surface has been melted and both carriageways have been contaminated with leaking diesel. Doubt it will be open before 8am tomorrow, time to get the maps out and plan a different route coz it will be a nightmare, good luck fella’s.

Regards
Dave Penn;

It’s all a bit suspicioius, this, isn’t it?

First the chemical cloud at Beachy Head, then then M1, then the M3, now the M62. Where’s next?

Still one hour delay heading West past the scene.

The exploding tyres made short work of that crash barrier one even finished up in lane three on the Eastbound side!

For even more chaos the crane driver could have stopped right underneath that bridge :laughing:

So I’m told, one of our drivers had a trailer catch fire. He stopped on the hard shoulder underneath one of the matrix signs. Apparently the company got billed for the repairs, and it wasn’t cheap.

Edit, forgot to add, as of 2000 Monday, it’s still causing problems. One lane closed. Probably sort it out overnight.
