TNUK's best driver?

Been rooting through a few topics this afternoon, and I noticed that we have all sorts of drivers on here with an awful lot of experience between them. Various skill sets and licences held, and many differing ways of achieving the same aim.

This got me thinking…What actually makes a good driver? Is it reliability? Skills? Ability to learn/adapt? etc.

And then I thought about my own experiences through the last few years. Curtains, boxes, fridges, flats, containers, done all those. Multidrop, retail, aluminium work, general, supermarkets, done all that too.

Even done roof trusses on low loaders, and that is pretty specialist work in itself. Coupled with my clean licence, superb customer skills and ability to learn, I reckon no one else on here comes close to me over the last 3 years.

I reckon this alone actually makes me the best driver here. Anyone else reckon they can run me close?

Christ Beaver, you forgot about our resident Advanced-Super-Dooper-Police Defensive-Driving Superstar Albion19■■■■ and heavy haulage and cycling supremo Chester…

You’re probably 3rd

I’m putting myself forward as Champion Desk Wallah.

I don’t think you’re giving him enough credit for being surplus to ES’s requirements! :grimacing:
Or Downtons.
Or…

No way you’re as good as me, remember us box jockeys are the best reversers. Plus I can stop for coffee without getting sacked :stuck_out_tongue:

You seem pretty experienced but if you actually seen me drive you would admit defeat, congratulate me and wish maybe one day you could be as good as me

Cheers

Beaten to it

I nominate chris558. He’s at least twice as good as the keen rodent.

It’s obviously Conor.

He’s driven a Howdens lorry across the 66 at the speed limit because he’s agency, don’t you know.

A.

I have driven lorries older then me :sunglasses:

Are you what they call a troll ? :unamused:

He’s not really a troll. I think the coffee has gone to his head…

Clearly, as here’s a post of Beaver’s from the Newbie forum he posted 2 days ago:

SNOWM4N. Most days of the week I end up doing something that I would get a fail for on the test. Sometimes I end up in a wrong lane, sometimes I have to clip or ride a kerb. More often than not my Actros let’s me down when pulling out at a roundabout. Sometimes I get caught out at lights and go through borderline amber/red.

The test itself on any given day can be a lottery. IF you have concerns about your driving ability and struggle with confidence that’s one thing, but if you KNOW you are COMPETENT and SAFE in a lorry, then crack on.

I used 5 test’s to get through class 2 and class 1, so don’t sweat it. (The average is 4 for both anyway). You will soon recover your cost’s.

Now get it passed and stop fannying around :grimacing: Another idea (as already mentioned), is to change your training provider. Have a quick research session on LGV test centre pass rates. I changed my provider when I realised that Bredbury test centre was one of the hardest places in the UK to pass! GOOD LUCK FELLA…

I’m sorry, but it’s me, look up God’s gift to lorry drivers and you’ll see my photo, it’s the same photo they use in the God’s gift to women section too.

I also have the ability to delete any comments that disagree with my declaration of fabulousness, so that settles it.

Sorry eagerbeaver, you’ve been outclassed mate [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

They dont give a tang V8 to just anyone dontcha know… :grimacing:

Well, what short and selective memories you all have. You should all know by now that switchlogic is THE Driving God.
After all,we’ve been told often enough.

He’s even got his own PPE!

Come on though folks, who else has had the experience over the last 3 yrs that I’ve had?

Don’t see anyone on here managing it to be honest. How many of you have done 16’ roof trusses to new build housing estates with a manual tag lift artic? :sunglasses:

Admit it, I am the real deal.
