Yesterday I saw what seemed to be a rather odd Scania 6x2 unit. This was hitched to a tank trailer so I presume that there were no issues with overall length, but the unit wheelbase was about a metre longer than normal. The centre axle was on smaller size wheels, but not the often seen tiddly ones. Are these units fairly common? what is the reason for the extra inches?
