Abandoned Truck

Wonder what the story behind this is.

PS LOL at 1:31 only thing left was the drivers pee bottle

when they wrapped it in police tape that would have been like the guy waving a flag at the start of the indianapolis 500 for the gypjops, and fellow flipflop truckie brigade…nice to see the cameradri still abounds there.

or
mabey he wanted a bit extra for xmas, and flogged the lot then got a lift home.if it was that,he did a good job of it.
or
mabey it just to pay for the doctors bills to find out why his pish bottle looks like he pished pea and ham soup… :open_mouth:

That’s their spare parts department .

Still got the winding handle!

I was probably a Waberer once upon a time but looking at how old it is and the condition (bald rear tyres on the trailer) it had probably been sold. Although they have thousands of trucks, I don’t think they’ll just leave one of theirs if the driver flogs it. Probably an owner-driver with a medical condition and no finances to pay for the recovery.

Saw a similar thing at La Jonquera mid nineties, a Kralowetz solo Volvo, completely attacked by the vultures. Think firm went broke leaving many drivers to find own way home, see he’s back in business now though.

I remember another one…

It was on the French side. As time went by it, gradually got robbed of more and more parts until there was nothing but a bare skeleton of a unit and trailer.

The ‘Junkyard’ as we called it, lived up to it’s name in that instance.

Theres an abandoned Waberers Volvo unit and LAG trailer behind SOL supermarket in Nerja where i live, been there for years, the vultures have left it alone, its totally complete, just sits there with its sun bleached paintwork.
As in the Romanian rig thread, most likely just another driver who’s abandoned ship, i cant tell by the plates how old the unit is but the trailer is 98 vintage. With the distance and cost involved probably just couldnt be bothered to pick it up…

Messed up the edit.

There’s an abandoned Mondeo on the A9 around about Dalwhinnie, southbound on the DC in a lay by, it’s been there a good few weeks so bits have started to disappear… not many parts left actually, so get a move on if you need some Mondeo parts

That bring back memories of a news report i heard years ago when a woman ran out of petrol on the A14, she walked off apparently miles to the nearest petrol station and on return found half her car stripped out… :grimacing:

i went for a test drive to a car sales in govan.as soon as we drove off i knew the car was a dog,so did a u turn and right back to the garage,to see the other salesman on his knees sucking the petrol from my car.he assumed he would have had 10-15 mins…no sale.
and

years ago i went in a recovery truck for a car that broke down in easterhouse…by the time i arrived 4 wheels were gone.back to my garage for 4 wheels and tyres, returned to see that they now nicked 4 doors, bonnet and bootlid as well and that they were all on another old ■■■■■■ across the road.( i know it was the same panels as his old ones were lying at the side of the house)…by the time i put 2 wheels on,then the scallies had nicked the other 2,so bunged them a cpl quid to gives peace and called the cops to assist…when they came i pointed out that the 4 doors,bonet,bootlid,4 wheels and tyres were on the car across the street and whould they nick the guy or at least cover me till i screwed them off again.NOT A CHANCE!!! was the reply, this dude has killed 3 guys that we know of,and only been done once…theres no way were going ahead with him for car parts…end result, they escorted me out though we got bottled and bricked en route…glesgae…city of culture…

That reminds me of a mate of mine. He stopped on the A1 in his car to tighten the fan belt or something. Next thing a guy was beside him saying if youre having the battery, Ill have the wheels…

Theres a Citroen (I think) abandoned in a lay by on the A9 nb a few miles north of dunblane. Been there for a few months now. Had cones round it last time I passed it and I also noticed parts going missing from it too.
