Nah, it looks like those paving slabs have filled the hole in already. Saves the council a job!

Probably last longer than a council repair job

They wouldn’t of come off if they were strapped properly :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
Think of the children

If the driver was wearing a hiviz vest while driving, this incident would not have occured.

Surely a driver wouldn’t dare venture out on the roads with an unsecured load like that??

Anyway, as has been pointed out, all’s good anyway as the dropped load has filled the hole!!

Well that one certainly did. I count 30 packs of Marshalls finest and not one strap. I guess, in a bizarre way, it was lucky the road did open up underneath him as I don’t think all of the packs would have made it to their destination.

Agency.

They used to take the steel down to Itie and bring the marble back.
How times have changed.

What the story doesn’t say is the driver ignored warnings not to drive down the road because of the burst water main

Better quality pic.

I think they still do?

I’ve never seen a strapped load which wouldn’t come adrift if the whole combination were turned upside down…

What happens when a wagon has crashed, load spilt all over the place, and evidence of strong strapping is in place?

Why can’t I upload pics who’s filenames have apostrophes in them? “Internal Server Error”…

Does it work if you right click and rename the file without the apostrophe?

Yes it does - I’m just wondering if I’ve found out the answer to why some of my posts get “bounced” like they do…

would not put it past the police, remember the cartoon from shobba in truck and driver, two traffic police standing at the back of a hi jacked vehicle smoking, one says to the other and I quote,NAH the hi jackers will be long gone by now,the drivers still ■■■■■■■ in the cab we could nick him for not being in proper control of his lorry, unquote, like I said would not put it past them LOL

Tragic to hear about the children. How many were killed or inured?

Really sad, I hate it when children are the casualties.

I suggest a large wreath placed near the hole - followed by 2 mins silence to remember all those children and their families tragically effected by this incident - my thoughts are with them.
