Looking quickly it would look like he would make it but obviously didn’t but nearly did.
That bridge must have moved. Look at the huge piece of the concrete that’s come off the support wall lying on the pavement.
one of george jenkins’
Where is the sign on the bridge to say what height it is??

Oh yeah, glad I wasn’t stood there at the time.
Yeah I have just looked at it on ipad. My phone screen resolution wasn’t good enough. Only a 14’3" clearance. And there is a sign saying “over height vehicles turn right” before it too. Oh dear

That type of bridge which uses a separate transverse steel deck is fairly easy to knock off its bearers. Its definately moved and the track on top will also have been buckled.
Just imagine the crap that would have hit the fan if it caused a train derailment aswel! which which it would have done if a train had been close to at the time.
I’d like to see the bill for that one!

Look at the image and you can plainly see the right hand side has been dislodged as well…

Probably gonna be an expensive one…
That bit of masonry must have involved the rail line itself being stoved over so it would need to be completely replaced I would have thought…
Respect off to the rail engineers if they’ve managed to re-build all of THAT in the timeframe mentioned!
Just seen one of them new red Ryder curtains with a jaunty little lean on him in Oldbury.
A little tear rolled down my cheek.
Them bridges must be sneaking down the inside of LGVs turning left to be involved so many accidents!
