Someone owes me about £5000 so I’m thinking about going to small claims court, looking online it doesn’t seem to difficult but has anyone done it who could tell me how not to make mistakes
Been out of the UK for many years but used it successfully on several occasions.
Make sure you send them a recorded letter first asking for the money with specifics of why, give them a specific and reasonable date to reply by or pay the debt - 14/21 days. This is important as it was a question on the process when I did it - showing you gave them a chance to pay.
Then go online and fill it in. Likely they’ll pay up before the court date, if they don’t and fail to show you should automatically win.
Collecting however might be a little harder…

Following advice I sent a letter but when post tried to deliver it they was out a card was left but letter was never collected from post office, following advice I sent another letter but not signed for times up on this one and I’ve just got to start claim
