A BA pilot may be jailed at Lewes court on 12th of June.
An engineer smelt alcohol on his breath and called the police, the Boeing 777, was due to leave LGW at 20.30 but staff did not have a third pilot for the Mauritius flight.
It left at 23.30, and the pilot arrested would have taken over about three hours after departing.
He tested at 86 mg, the limit for pilots is 20 mg.
His defence is drinking to sleep in the afternoon.
My guess he was on a standby rota, but the bottle to throttle rule is is zero mg 8 hours before duty.
Is jail fair or not ?

Unlikely that FD will be back for a while mate.

He is an intelligent chap and didn’t take too kindly to being threatened/treated like a kid on here.
