Black Friday

How long is this bloody Black Friday crap going on for, it’s like an end of season sale it lasts for ever, some places have had Closing Down Sales that have survived the recession and still going strong, Black Friday is heading the same way but on a global scale. Now if companies can afford to cut prices to increase sales and reduce losses does it not make sense to reduce the price permenantly and have a steady flow of custom annually rather than pushing a month before Xmas and pushing people towards maxing their credit cards.

Think its been proven that most of these deals are BS anyway.
Lot of places are guilty of pushing the prices up on the run up only to drop them when Black Friday hits.

What I can’t understand is how people go nuts over Televisions. I’ve had mine about 7 years without issue. Yet these tards seem to be buying one at least once a year.

And as has been pointed out elsewhere, why “Flat Screen” TVs? When did anyone last manufacture a CRT set?

There’s a primary school near me that had a teacher training day yesterday because of it. The locals are in uproar about it lol

I looked at some deals in curry’s last year and they have to show when it was at a higher price and most of them was at one store either in West Wales or the north of Scotland and only at that price for one day

Theres the basic rules. And heres an extract:
“As a general rule of thumb, we advise against using a lower promotional price for longer than the product was on sale at the original price .”
So, selling at an “offer” price for more than one day, if only sold at old price for just one day, wouldnt be "advisable"? I dont doubt what you saw, Chester1, just pointing out the rules.

I think the get out clause in that mate is advisable . Dfs was the same too I brought a sofa in a “sale” a cpl of years ago and the price is still the same now lol

I’m not sure if I’ve got the hang of this Black Friday thing
But …I prepared my wish list of items I wanted (didn’t want to go wild and overspend), the thermos of tea was filled ready for camping out overnight outside the local Tesco’s as I was determined to be at the front of the queue to avoid the stampede of bodies when they open the doors the following morning.
Top of my wish list was 2kg of Maris piper potatoes, a carton of milk, and a box of teabags

Furniture seems one of the main culprits.
Long overdue, but the rules on advertising download speeds by providers is being strengthened.
They’ve been a joke for years too.
