I looked at some deals in curry’s last year and they have to show when it was at a higher price and most of them was at one store either in West Wales or the north of Scotland and only at that price for one day

Theres the basic rules. And heres an extract:
“As a general rule of thumb, we advise against using a lower promotional price for longer than the product was on sale at the original price .”
So, selling at an “offer” price for more than one day, if only sold at old price for just one day, wouldnt be "advisable"? I dont doubt what you saw, Chester1, just pointing out the rules.

I think the get out clause in that mate is advisable . Dfs was the same too I brought a sofa in a “sale” a cpl of years ago and the price is still the same now lol

Furniture seems one of the main culprits.
Long overdue, but the rules on advertising download speeds by providers is being strengthened.
They’ve been a joke for years too.
