Any one got experencie of this, wifes parents both in there 80s he gets full state pension she opted out of paying in years ago when working so only gets about £20. If he dies what will she get?

With the way things are going atm ( with regards to benefit cuts, pensions etc ), they will probably tell her she needs to do Class C pallet multi drop or go buy a good few blankets and find her nearest food bank as she will be getting next to zero

She should be eligible for Pension Credit, which will top up her income to £155 per week. As it’s an income related benefit it would also open the door to Housing Benefit and Council Tax reduction. Have a look at Age UK website.
