Lazy eye can anyone help!

Hello everybody.

I am a 30 year old man and i’ve been wanting to do my heavy goods since i was 5 years old, but unfortunatly i’ve failed my medical numorous times because of my eye. I can see out of it but every thing is blurred and glasses wont fix it and neither will laser correction. I’m waiting to see if the doctor will refer me to a speicalist but i’m not holding out much hope on that one.
I’m just a van driver at the moment going in to central london everyday and it’s boring the **** out of me, so if any one can help me or knows of any loop holes in the system please please please tell me.

wtf

Go and see an eye consultant privately, if he thinks anything can be done he will refer you to hospital, Try and get a consultant who works on Moorfields eye hospital as they are the best , I speak from experience as I was left blind after a battery blew up in my face but got the sight back in one eye.

thank you for your advice willie mac.

I lost my right eye as a child but it never hampered my driving. Class 1 HGV via “Grandfathers Rights” and was the last monovision HGV driver in the country, courtesy of the EU.
The fact that I had a clean licence, instructed in HGV and PSV made no difference, licences lost.
If I wanted to take my driving test in a car now I would not be allowed.
Experience and 51 years blemish free driving means nothing to Brussells.

To book any LGV training I suggest the trainee-to-be, visits the training school, meets the head person(s) and has a quick look at the truck BEFORE parting with any money.

Using the site Search facility and putting the words TRAINING AND WHERE you wish to train may turn up some recommendations.
