DVLA - Hospital communication?

Towards the end of March I had a minor heart attack , resulting in a stent being fitted .
Question is , has anyone had same & how long did it take to get clearance to get back behind HGV wheel ?

Cheers , Mick .

I had a heart valve replacement on 1st February. Even my car license had to be surrendered. I applied towards the end of March for it to be returned and am still waiting :unamused:  . At the moment I am driving under section 88 of the RTA, which allows me to drive with the agreement of my GP, only if I surrendered my license voluntarily and if there are no changes since I surrendered it (penalty points etc). This only applies to my car license. HGV will take a hell of a lot longer.
Don’t hold your breath for a quick decision. DVLA are a law unto themselves. Best of luck with it.Hope you get back to work soon.

Cheers Mick , seems communication is not a strong point in NHS .
DVLA sent me letter saying ok to drive as long as within category of license & ok with doctor, called them to see if this meant hgv as well "oh no , that’s a different kettle of fish ".
Doc says "nowt to do with me , up to consultant "
Consultant says " we’ve got letter from DVLA , just waiting to action it "
Seem to be going round in circles

Sounds about right :unamused: :unamused:

Just had my HGV medical today. Might have my license by Christmas
