Hgv licence refused by dvla

After having my hgv licence refused I still have my C1 licence, however my boss now says he has a problem with his insurance on C1 for me, so I may not be able to drive his 7.5 tonners. Has anyone else had any problems like this

Yes I have. Since the bin lorry incident in Glasgow, insurance companies are taking NO RISK. I don’t think I’ll drive hgv for 10 years - that’s me retired then :unamused:

Depends on what grounds they refused it…it may be possible to appeal the decision, or to take steps to rectify it…but I would write to the Insurance company saying you are licenced to drive a C1 and have been deemed fit by DVLA to do so…and they have no right to refuse…i would ask them On what grounds

A lot depends why the D4 LGV was not authorised - care to share

Doesn’t medical failures of a group 2 category licence cover all the licences in that category?
Basically all vocational licences fall into group 2 .
Group 1 is basically cars , bikes and vans upto 3.5t etc which have different medical requirements.
