Description: We are looking for a positive and energetic person to join our expanding team.
Southern Sheeting is a fast growing, family owned and operated, specialist roofing and building materials distributor, supplying products nationwide. We pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service and product knowledge. We have a team of 40 employees, split across our two depots.

As a driver you will be the interface with our customers and an ambassador for the Company, so your interpersonal skills are extremely important. You will manage your own working day to achieve the needs of the business in the most efficient and economic way.
REQUIREMENTS:
The Job
As a member of the Logistics Team your activities will include:
Loading and delivering Company products in one of our fleet of branded vehicles
Daily checks of your vehicle and reporting any issues
Offloading by hand at the point of delivery
Admin tasks relating to the role including quality and quantity control checks
General yard and warehouse duties as required
Specific Skills and experience
In a customer facing role you will need excellent communication skills with a friendly and courteous attitude
A strong belief in great customer service
You will have a positive and enthusiastic outlook and be able to manage your own workload in an effective and efficient way
Good attention to detail to ensure accurate deliveries
You will be a team player, who is level-headed and remains calm under pressure
You will enjoy driving and have a full driving licence with no penalty points
No other specific experience is required, but knowledge of building products and the construction industry and counterbalanced forklift truck experience would be an advantage.
You will have a good geographic knowledge of South East England
The job is physically demanding and largely conducted outside when not driving
Other requirements
No specific knowledge of building products is required but knowledge of the construction industry and terminology would be an advantage
Counterbalance forklift truck experience would be useful, but training will be provided
Basic IT knowledge
Hours of Work
42 hours per week – our opening hours are from 08.00 to 17.30 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 to 17.00 on Friday but times can be varied to meet delivery criteria. No Bank holiday working.
